About the Adventure

You and your fledgling Crew of Scoundrels will navigate the seedy underworld of High Hill, learning how to thrive amidst the threats of rival gangs, powerful noble families, vengeful ghosts, the corrupt city watch, and the siren song of your own vices. Do you have what it takes rise to power in the criminal underworld? What are you willing to do to get to the top? Steal the bankroll of a competing crew? Blackmail a corrupt official? Assassinate a power broker? Perform a forbidden ritual to create a new vampire coven? It’s all up to you and your fellow Scoundrels

Blades in the Dark is like a cross between Peaky Blinders, Ocean’s 11, and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Everything is a heist, in a world where criminal factions fight for power, and magic is only a thin veil of the spirit field away. The game encourages creative storytelling to explore the action and cutthroat consequences of growing a criminal enterprise by giving the players control. It is a great option for players brand new to tabletop roleplaying games and for those that love the cinematic action of a heist movie.

What I Provide:

Upon sign up, please send me a message using the “Contact” button or through the RPG Club Discord so I can get you access to the Blades in the Dark resources folder (Rules, Character Sheets, Crew Sheets) and so you can ask any questions you might have. I will provide a selection of pre-generated Scoundrels to choose from, or you can create your own before the session.

What You Need:

A webcam, a mic, and a way to roll at least 1 six-sided die (the most common die type, found in most board games). The session will take between 2 and 3 hours depending on number of players.

Content, Behavior, and Boundaries:

This game includes a spectrum of criminal behavior, including violence, drug use, addiction, and trauma. It is assumed that all Scoundrels are morally grey and that they will commit a number of crimes in service of completing their objectives, but we will explicitly avoid anything sexual or gratuitous. Both are crass and while you are Scoundrels, you still have reputations to uphold.

Please reach out to me with the “Contact” icon above so I can answer any questions you may have.

A truly excellent GM that is equal parts immersive story-crafter and new system guide.

Jeremy is a consumate storyteller and really gifted at teaching systems to players of all skill levels. Whatever story is to be told in one of Jeremy’s games will be enjoyable due in large part to his commitment to collaboration with his players. He always works with his table to craft the right narrative around what they want to play while also throwing wrench after deadly wrench in the works along the way. I can’t recommend playing in one of his games enough whether you are a beginner or an old hat with many TTRPGs under your belt.
