“Look, all I’m saying is that I know asteroid fields are dangerous, but can’t they also be beautiful?” – Zap Finnegan, Pilot of the Raptor
Sci-fi shenanigans at its best, Lasers and Feelings is a quick to learn game (only 1 page of rules!) that will get you into the action and fighting off space pirates and navigating asteroid fields in no time.
What is Lasers and Feelings?
A very simple sci-fi game that focuses on 2 traits (Lasers, and uh…Feelings) using bare bones Blades in the Dark rules of rolling d6s to achieve success, success with complication, or failure. In fact, it was created by the same game designer! It is a great game for silly fun in space, whether hunting down space pirates, avoiding alien brain worms, or overthrowing Zorgon the Conqueror before they use the Quantum Tunnel to rip a hole in reality.
What I Provide:
Upon sign up, please send me a message using the “Contact” button or through the RPG Club Discord so I can get you access to the full rules (again, its only 1 page) and so you can ask any questions you might have. We will use Zoom for video and audio, you will receive the link upon sign up. We will make characters at the beginning of the session, but you are welcome to make one ahead of time if you like.
What You Need:
A webcam, a mic, and a way to roll at least 1 six-sided die (the most common die type, found in most board games). The session will take between 2 and 3 hours depending on number of players.
I felt really lucky to have Jeremy introduce this game and ttrpgs to me with this game. He was patient and walked through character creation and a small heist that felt like it was equal parts action and intrigue. Highly recommended.
Jeremy’s knack for storytelling is truly superb. The lore, the dangers and especially the end of session cliffhangers keep us all coming back for more. He has a fantastic ability to immerse players into vivid surroundings and introduce them to interesting NPC’s along the way.
Jeremy thoughtfully encourages players to be active participants in character development and the world-building process. This equates to limitless imagination, super creative game sessions and a hell of a lot of fun for everyone!
My first introduction to D&D was with Jeremy after a friend won a session with him. We’ve done D&D, Blades in the Dark, he created his own Grim Dark campaign, Mork Borg, Shadow of the Demon Lord (modified), so many different systems. I’d say he’s quite the dabbler, but if Jeremy’s running it, it’s gonna be a good time.
He gives his players lots of creative freedom. He’s great with feedback so don’t be afraid to tell him what you may have liked or didn’t like in a session as he likes to experiment. He doesn’t pull punches soo if you roll poorly expect bad things to happen (but isn’t that fun of it?!)
Overall you can expect a good session and you’ll definitely have fun.
Jeremy has a gift for developing absolutley unique and fully immersive worlds. He creates an experience that allows players to easily lose themselves in thier characters. He guides players on journeys and adventures so thoroughly that players can’t help but become fully emotionaly invested in the world and their fellow adventures’ well being. A world class GM, easily on par with the Matt Mercers and Brennen Lee Mulligans of the TTRPG world.
I’ve been playing Jeremy’s games for years now and he never disappoints. His theater of the mind immersion is tip-top! Always runs his games very professionally with lots of fun involved. Very creative to bring in lots of new game elements and surprises. He has run DND 5e, but also runs many other platforms for me that are always great. I always need a lot of guidance and babysitting for character creation and game mechanics, and he is adept at providing plenty of information while not slowing down the group.
He’s the picasso of plot twists – the Shakespeare of shenanigans – balancing bad-assery and blending it with boons and banes.
I raise my glass to the miracle maker who makes my Tuesdays a little tastier!
