“The Rangers of East Watch guard the Pine Barrens against all manner of beasts and monsters, but the tunnels beneath the gnarled roots and creaking trunks hide more than danger. There are riches to be uncovered, if one is brave enough.” – Tully Eads, halfing tracker
Learn to play this year’s “Product of the Year”, “Best Game”, and “Best Rules” winner, Shadowdark! Explore the ruins that were reclaimed by nature long ago as you traverse wilderness, tunnels, and caves in search of treasure in this introductory one shot adventure.
What is ShadowDark?
A classic “Old School” inspired dungeon delver that uses a lot of the same mechanics as D&D 5e, but simplified. It is super easy to learn (described by Dire Den on YouTube as “The Best Way to Learn D&D”), and focuses on exploration and finding treasure. Magic is rare but powerful, and the dark is incredibly dangerous, so don’t forget to bring enough torches!
What I Provide:
Upon sign up, please send me a message using the Contact button or through the RPG Club Discord so I can get you access to the Shadowdark Rules, Character Sheet, and answer any questions you might have. We can set up a time to go over character creation before the session so that way you can jump right into the action, or you can choose from several pre-generated options
We will use Zoom for video and audio, the link is provided when you sign up.
What You Need:
A webcam, a mic, and a way to roll dice (d4-d20). The session will be 2-3 hours long depending on number of players. A character sheet can be printed out, or shadowdarklings.net is a great online option if you prefer.
I’ve played a number of games, systems, and a full campaigns with Jeremy as a GM and I can wholeheartedly say that I am a different, better, more creative player because of him. If you have any interest in branching out from the hegemony of D&D, let Jeremy be your guide.
I played a worldbuilding game with Jeremy, and it was fantastic. I was completely new to the game, and new to worldbuilding games in general. Jeremy lead the session expertly, giving enough detail and direction to get us started while allowing us players to brainstorm and be creative with our build. He was kind and patient, and he knew just when to step in if we needed help. He has a great sense of humor, there was a lot of laughter as we played. I’m looking forward to the next chance I’ll have to play one of his games again. Thanks Jeremy!
Jeremy is a great DM, and I look forward to every game with him. He engages the player and seems to be a genuine fan of the PCs, even as they smash headlong through a score like bulls in a china shop!

Jeremy knows how to build worlds, tell stories, and engage players. He is especially good at meeting players where they are at. If you want silliness, he's your guy. If you want serious, high-stakes drama, he's your guy. If you want long-term character growth, he's your guy. Any type of game and any type of story, you won't regret having Jeremy guide you through it.

Jeremy does a great job with Blades in the Dark! He has clearly planned ahead, has a brilliant mind for imagining scenarios that are appropriate to the roll of the dice, and makes each session fun for players. I love Thursdays night Blades, and playing with Jeremy is a highlight!
It's hard to put into words how mesmerizing and inspiring this game session was. With zero "action" built into the game rules, we had so much happen in the world of the people we channeled as we told our interwoven, collaborative story. And this was such a success because of this DM's hard work of supporting players' imaginations (and lending his in a pinch), record-keeping, making sure that group dynamics worked well... I could honestly appreciate how intense it must have been to run such a storytelling-heavy game, yet as a player it felt effortless for me to be creative, and just to HAVE FUN
I felt really lucky to have Jeremy introduce this game and ttrpgs to me with this game. He was patient and walked through character creation and a small heist that felt like it was equal parts action and intrigue. Highly recommended.
Jeremy's knack for storytelling is truly superb. The lore, the dangers and especially the end of session cliffhangers keep us all coming back for more. He has a fantastic ability to immerse players into vivid surroundings and introduce them to interesting NPC's along the way.
Jeremy thoughtfully encourages players to be active participants in character development and the world-building process. This equates to limitless imagination, super creative game sessions and a hell of a lot of fun for everyone!
My first introduction to D&D was with Jeremy after a friend won a session with him. We've done D&D, Blades in the Dark, he created his own Grim Dark campaign, Mork Borg, Shadow of the Demon Lord (modified), so many different systems. I'd say he's quite the dabbler, but if Jeremy's running it, it's gonna be a good time.
He gives his players lots of creative freedom. He's great with feedback so don't be afraid to tell him what you may have liked or didn't like in a session as he likes to experiment. He doesn't pull punches soo if you roll poorly expect bad things to happen (but isn't that fun of it?!)
Overall you can expect a good session and you'll definitely have fun.
Jeremy has a gift for developing absolutley unique and fully immersive worlds. He creates an experience that allows players to easily lose themselves in thier characters. He guides players on journeys and adventures so thoroughly that players can't help but become fully emotionaly invested in the world and their fellow adventures' well being. A world class GM, easily on par with the Matt Mercers and Brennen Lee Mulligans of the TTRPG world.
I've been playing Jeremy's games for years now and he never disappoints. His theater of the mind immersion is tip-top! Always runs his games very professionally with lots of fun involved. Very creative to bring in lots of new game elements and surprises. He has run DND 5e, but also runs many other platforms for me that are always great. I always need a lot of guidance and babysitting for character creation and game mechanics, and he is adept at providing plenty of information while not slowing down the group.
He's the picasso of plot twists - the Shakespeare of shenanigans - balancing bad-assery and blending it with boons and banes.
I raise my glass to the miracle maker who makes my Tuesdays a little tastier!
Jeremy is a consumate storyteller and really gifted at teaching systems to players of all skill levels. Whatever story is to be told in one of Jeremy's games will be enjoyable due in large part to his commitment to collaboration with his players. He always works with his table to craft the right narrative around what they want to play while also throwing wrench after deadly wrench in the works along the way. I can't recommend playing in one of his games enough whether you are a beginner or an old hat with many TTRPGs under your belt.
