Adventure Overview:

Theros is a realm of mighty gods, extraordinary heroes, and incredible feats and ordeals. Recently, a band of heroes has sought out, and destroyed, a terrible foe: Explictica Defilus, a gorgon with connections to the divine Pharika. Having delved into her lair and severed her ties to the gods, a band of heroes are now painted in the starry skies of Nyx; however, their adventures are only just beginning, and as they celebrate and return the sleepy town of Thesteia to normalcy, the world at large still quakes in this new Age of Heroes.

Within this realm of Theros, Against the Cult of the Reptile God has set the stage for our long-form adventures! A strange, shadowy figure has slowly worked their way through the dreams of the heroes, confronting each one about their belief of the divine, and seems to be trying to inflict doubt in their abilities. Our adventures, the Mythic Odysseys of Theros, is a long-spanning game that has already put a real-world year under its belt, and expects many more! You can expect the following in this adventure steeped heavily in our Greek mythology turned D&D setting:

• Your adventurer will begin at level 1, and journey all the way to level 11 for high level play!
• Encounter and fight titanic foes, corrupt servants of the gods, and famous villains from the D&D lexicon!
• Explore Theros and make your mark as one of its famous Heroes, and have your exploits bestowed into the night sky, known as Nyx!
• Complex and exciting combats featuring hand-crafted custom maps, named rivals and foes to learn to love to hate, and more!

The Call to Adventure:

Whether a completely fresh and new adventurer, or a veteran of D&D for many years, Mythic Odysseys of Theros is catered to all parties and players. Expect to be guided, assisted, and helped every step of the way to ensure you have the skills, know-how, and become embossed in the histories and tales of Theros! If you’ve played before, be welcomed as well, for the Mythic Odysseys of Theros includes a plethora of detailed politics, combats, and perils to see in a brand new light.

What You Will Need:

When signing on for this adventure, you’ll gain access to a customized Discord where you’ll be granted access to art, fellow adventurers, and more! Access to Discord, a functioning microphone, and access to the website known as roll20.net are expected to be able to play, and Discord and roll20 are free services!

What You Receive:

Using roll20 exclusively for my DM’ing needs, you’ll have access to almost every sourcebook needed to fully customize your character! From the website of roll20 you’ll be able to use the Charactermancer and create a character from scratch, following simple step by step prompts. If you’re new to the game or the system, I’ll run you through the whole process, so no need to worry!

What To Create:

Adventurers will begin this adventure at level 1, but if you’re joining us later on, you’ll make a character fitting of the level of the rest of the party: no adventurers left behind! Expect point buy, or standard array, for stat distribution, and basic equipment to start; don’t worry, you’ll be outfitted with magic and tools to combat the Champions of the Gods once you’re in the game proper!

Villainous heroes are not recommended, as the Heroes of Theros are often those who bring light to dark places, though expect grey areas as morals and goals are questioned throughout the adventure.

What To Expect:

• New or an experienced player, this adventure will come with guides and help from your DM in every facet. Although the task ahead is grand, the pacing of the adventure allows for an easy introduction into the basics, including roleplay and combat.
• Theros is a massive world with three major cities, or poleis, which serve as the largest backdrops for the adventures. Explore the wilds, old necropolises, volcanoes, the depths of the ocean, and more!
• Want to feel your actions have impact and weight? Every word, every movement can change the course of the adventure for better or worse; if you want to feel the weight of heroism, you’ll find it here!
• Teamwork makes the dream work, and you’ll be hard pressed to find it better than when a titan is bearing down upon you. Join your comrades in arms to face off against the most malignant of evils of Theros!

Come Join our Adventurers:

The fun and excitement is already underway! Having reached level 4, our band of heroes have delved into dungeons, fought cultists, and one of them even died and was brought back to life! Join the heroes of Theros as they carve their names into the stones of history:

• Xanthos, the Human Fighter of Erebos, first became a hero by escaping the Underworld, and the clutches of his patron deity, Erebos, God of the Dead. A lone survivor of a terrible tragedy caused by the Returned, the lord of the underworld saw his pain and resilience, thus and claimed the survivor as his agent. Now bearing a Scourgemark, the telltale sign of a servant of the god, he seeks to destroy the Returned, and any who bear the ire of lord Erebos. However, such devotion is tempered with kindness, as he sends all slain to Athreos with a coin underneath their tongue.
• Aras, the Centaur Fighter of Iroas, was once a soldier in the Akroan army. Having left to seek to help others more directly, the Centaur always puts other’s safety before his own, and strides to do what’s right by his god Iroas, the God of Victory. Blessed with Victory, a blade given for surviving an Ordeal, Aras has met death and defied it, and seeks to protect all he can with strength of mind and body.
• Marty, the Leonin Sorcerer of Purphoros, lives on the edge of excitement, while always clinging to his fearful nature of total destruction. A positive light among his fellow adventurers, Marty loves to bring the chaos, and hope that chaos doesn’t come back to blast him in the face. Having once fallen into a volcano during a drunken stupor, Purphoros, God of the Forge blessed him with life, and a red skeletal arm made of bronze, a reminder to appreciate life, but that death is one crack of Erebos’ whip away.
• Circe, the Satyr Druid of Pharika, became a hero to prove to the world that Pharika, the God of Affliction, is one of both benevolence and spite in equal measure. Having grown up sheltered, Circe learns through the others she meets who she truly is, and strives to bring peace and succor to those who need it, while also destroying those who deserve retribution. Eager to have a positive hand in all things, Circe is a vibrant reminder that Pharika, and those who serve her, embody both the light of healing, and the pain of suffering, for suffering brings anodyne.
• Draxis, the Leonin Cleric of Klothys, is a leonin out of place. Smaller than most his brethren, Draxis moved from Oreskos to Meletis to speak the word of Klothys, the God of Destiny. Steadfast in his belief, or so it would seem, Draxis is able to see the hand of Fate wherever it lies, as well as see it in places it does not. Loud, boisterous, and determined, Draxis is intent on doing the will of Klothys and ensure that all destines meet their inevitable, and preordained, course.

Notes From the GM:

This adventure is expected to be a very long excursion, as most of what’s in the adventure I love to expand upon in almost every way. Dozens of new NPCs, customized maps, and set pieces pulled from other adventures to enhance this one make it all one very lengthy story. If you want your DM to obsess over the finer points to enhance your play, this is a great place to start.
