A beautiful land full of culture, riches, dangers, and exploits awaits any Party willing to take on the call to glory. The rich and fertile fields of Vernfell are home to a kingdom of humans, halflings, and firbolg, eager to safeguard their lands. Proud elves reside in the east, and growing populations of beastmen spill from a massive, magical tear in the earth to the west. Armies of undead wait just inside the confines of a massive necropolis beneath Vernfell, the catacombs left behind from the fallen dwarven kingdom. Dark and terrible rumors surround the fall of the dwarves, although no one can be certain of anything. Religious groups, aristocratic houses, and guilds of merchants or mercenaries all have agendas and will seek the aid of capable adventurers. Seven dragons of varying colors reside in this continent, and each has their own dark or noble intentions. Encounter iconic companion-style characters and aid them on their individual quests.
Will you ride out and safeguard Vernfell against the raiding beastmen from the west? Or will you delve into the two seemingly-bottomless megadungeons, the depths of which hold untold threats and treasures? Which side will you take in a growing civil conflict that threatens to engulf the entire continent? When you are face to face with a dragon, will you run, fight, or negotiate? Will you entreat with the gods, or reject their meddling? Or will you claim Authority and ascend to godhood yourself? Your Fate is yours to choose in Pride Before the Fall, a beginner-friendly faction and dungeon-based homebrew campaign packed with detail and intrigue.
What If You’re New to RPGs or PBP:
Don’t worry! This campaign starts at 1st level and focuses primarily on exploration, interactions with the world, and roleplaying. You you will learn to create a character on D&D Beyond and how to play Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition in Discord, even if you are completely new.
How Asynchronous Play-By-Post Works
This format has no set session time; it’s always ongoing in a text format. Players and GM communicate in a chat channel and then narrate in a separate and dedicated channel for immersion. GM sets the scene and then players explain how their characters react and what they say and do, and then the GM explains the effect of their words and actions, often with return dialogue, and this continues.
What Players Need:
A free Discord account, a free profile on D&D Beyond, and ~2 hours broken up each week to dedicate to continuing the adventure.
What the GM Provides:
Additional access to content on D&D Beyond, a robust set of channels with a sophisticated system to deliver a great PBP experience, and visuals of NPCs, monsters, and maps.
Character Creation Guidelines:
There are heavy restrictions on the races available due to the setting. This is not an absolute rule, but a very strong suggestion. Since the Party will start at 1st level and progress to 4th level relatively quickly, it is recommended that players know the path that their player characters will take ahead of time. Player character stats will be determined using Standard Array or Point Buy. If you don’t know what these are, don’t worry – it’ll all be explained!
Who Will Like This Game:
Those who want to learn D&D or PBP, and those who like the fantasy genre, grand narrative, exploring dungeons, interacting with factions and gods, and building relationships with Skyrim/Baldur’s Gate style follower NPCs will enjoy this campaign.

Keenan will utilize both audio and visuals to ensure you have a great representation of the ambience and world of whatever campaign you take part in. He helped get me into D&D finally and I’m loving it

This was my first D&D campaign, and I started as someone who didnt know much about the game or its intricacies. Not only was Keenan extremely accomodating, his world building, and immersive story telling makes coming to session every week a blast. Highly recommend!

I have been playing various TTRPGs for years and Keenan is a great DM. He was a lot of fun and took into consideration the personalities of the players he was running for. He made voices for some of the characters and had nice ambience even for this short one shot. I cannot recommend him enough to run a one shot and I hope to be a part of a campaign he runs in the future.

I played my first DnD game with Keenan and he was FANTASTIC! He took the time to walk through every single aspect on “How to Play 101” weeks before! My party and I had a great time with Keenan! He made our game “educational” and engaging and let us get a lil’ goofy! 10/10 would recommend!

I played my first game of D&D with Keenan and it was just so fun while he was patient explaining rules, and it was so easy going. Definitely worth the price of admission, as he's definitely willing to roll with whatever shenanigans the group gets up to. My only complaint is I can't give him 6/5 stars
Now of course, a good DM can make a game and that is still a very true fact for Keenan, however he is more than just a good DM. He is a storyteller and a collaborator, he brings to life any story he tells and does it so with craftsmanship.
Keenan is THE DM who not just creates a campaign but a world you can get lost in with the layers of story building, roleplaying, and combat that he breathes to life. He is very welcoming to new players, working with them in and out of sessions to have the best experience for everyone.
Keenan is an amazing DM who gets very involved in the campaign and puts a lot of heart into the story telling/world building. He is also an exceptional DM for first time players like myself very patient and always ready to help can't recommend enough!
So what to tell you about keen is he is a great and fun dm has alot of patiance makes the game fun makes great use of homebrew would deffo.recommend
Keenan is a phenomenal DM with an incredible knack for world building! Settings feel alive and dynamic, and characters have all felt distinct and memorable! He gives a large degree of freedom to the party to approach situations however they would like, and combat encounters are challenging but exciting! I am a bit of an optimizer myself, and the fights we have encountered have consistently been engaging and allowed each player character to have moments to shine. Keenan is also great about working with players to ensure that everyone is comfortable with the subject matter in the game, and he has been very accommodating with requests for topics to avoid. I would absolutely recommend him as a DM!
