About the Adventure

“All our stories are kept in the sky. The stars group together to remind us of these tales.”

The skies have always provided wonder and the stories they tell have lasted for millennia, filled with myth and legend. They inspire us, teach us, and guide us forward with their wisdom and lessons. These stories are always shared by a Teller, heard by Listeners, who in turn must become Tellers of the story to others.

What is Told By Starlight?

Told By Starlight is a collaborative storytelling game that uses a deck of cards to draw constellations and tell their stories. The constellations are used to create a mythology and add richness to a new or already existing world. Working together, you will have the opportunity to act as the Teller and Listener, creating a new mythology from nothing, filling it with the grand stories of Icons, their struggles, and the lessons mortals are blessed with. No experience is necessary to play, but it is improvisational in nature. The Muse, a series of tables with prompts and inspiration, is always there to consult if you find yourself adrift among the stars. This game is great for players wanting to practice their improv or storytelling, writers looking for inspiration, or GMs hoping to enrich their world with depth and history.

What I Provide:

Upon sign up, please send me a message using the “Contact” button or through the RPG Club Discord so I can get you access to the Player Reference folder which contains the Player Guide, Quick Reference, and full ruleset to the game. I will act as Moderator, drawing cards, taking notes, and guiding players through their turns. We will use Zoom for video, audio, and the Whiteboard App for our star chart to keep things all within a single platform for simplicity. The star chart will be saved and stored in the Player Reference folder for everyone to access after the session.

What You Need:

A webcam, a mic, and your creativity.

This one-shot is expected to run roughly 3 hours. There is no limit to how many constellations and myths that are created, but eventually the sky fills up with their tales.

Please feel free to reach out to me with the “Contact” icon above so I can answer any questions you may have.

A truly excellent GM that is equal parts immersive story-crafter and new system guide.

Jeremy is a consumate storyteller and really gifted at teaching systems to players of all skill levels. Whatever story is to be told in one of Jeremy’s games will be enjoyable due in large part to his commitment to collaboration with his players. He always works with his table to craft the right narrative around what they want to play while also throwing wrench after deadly wrench in the works along the way. I can’t recommend playing in one of his games enough whether you are a beginner or an old hat with many TTRPGs under your belt.
