I’ve been enjoying the TTRPG scene since 2003 (after learning KOTOR had a source book) and Forever DMing weekly since 2020 – virtually and in-person.
I’m deeply inspired by cinematography and graphic lit like comics and manga. How the elements of a scene combine to affect the perception of a scene is absolutely fascinating, and always valuable insight for a GM.
I tend to run games that are roleplay and exploration focused, with combat being objective-based, and narratively significant. My goal as DM is to help my players improve their skill, embrace their characters, and build connection through the collaborative gameplay experience.
I typically run games through discord, providing area maps, artwork, and ambient music. I have Foundry VTT for those who particularly want the experience of combat on a battle map.
JJ is an incredible and knowledgeable DM who has transformed our adventuring party from beginners to intermediate players in just a few sessions. She has a remarkable talent for crafting rich, immersive worlds that burst to life through vivid descriptions and fully flushed-out NPCs. JJ’s ability to weave together intricate plots, thrilling encounters, and complex puzzles has made every session an absolute blast!
Beyond her skills as a DM, JJ fosters a supportive environment where every player feels welcomed and valued. Her infectious enthusiasm for the game and adeptness at adapting to unexpected player choices has made every player decision feel impactful and dynamic. I cannot recommend JJ highly enough!!
I have had the pleasure of playing in one of JJ’s DnD 5e campaigns for nearly a year and the experience has been great so far. My friends and I decided to try our hand at DnD for the first time and JJ has been an ideal GM for a bunch of newbies. She takes the time to walk us through character creation, gameplay, role playing and combat and always has time to answer questions or offer recommendations on how to improve our characters or overall game experience. When our beginner’s campaign took a hard left and we decided to venture beyond the small geographical area the campaign was supposed to be limited to, she quickly built out a universe and storyline for us to explore and we have only been zooming out from the OG quest since. It is very obvious that JJ does her homework and has a thorough understanding of DnD lore and history. As a GM, she is patient, flexible and she has a very healthy sense of humor, not to mention she is an all around rad human being. I’m excited to continue with this campaign and she will be my go-to GM for future campaigns!
